SCHOLAR and Chartered Teacher

CPDadvantage (City and Guilds) and the SCHOLAR programme have collaborated to help teachers to gain credit for their SCHOLAR training and development experience in working towards Chartered Teacher (CT) status.

Chartered Teacher status brings recognition of your professional competence, an enhanced salary and improved career prospects.

If you are involved in SCHOLAR activities with your examination classes you can use your training and development experience to gain credit in the CPDadvanatge (City & Guilds) Chartered Teacher programme.

In this programme – which has been specifically designed to be workbased, classroom focused and flexible – you will be able to use your SCHOLAR experience to:

  • gain credit for your SCHOLAR training and development activities through ‘accreditation for prior learning’ (APL)
  • work on a ‘double’ module – ‘Principles and Practice of e-learning’ – with a specific focus on e-learning in the context of SCHOLAR
  • complete a ‘work based project’ – the final element of all CT programmes – based on the SCHOLAR work you are doing with your own classes
